Grain Free diets

The FDA is currently researching the possible link between certain grain free diets and dogs developing dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).These diets generally have peas, lentils, potatoes, and other legumes listed as main ingredients, usually just before the first vitamin and mineral ingredient). While this study is ongoing, we recommend that dogs be fed a balanced diet manufactured by the 3 main pet food companies that do extensive pet nutrition research. Choose diets made by either Hills, Royal Canin, or Purina Pro Plan. There has been no reliable nutritional research demonstrating the benefits of a grain free diet for dogs.
